Todos Santos Plethora Of New Year’s Eve Choices

There are more options for New Year’s eve fun in Todos Santos Baja this year than I have ever seen before. If you can’t find something interesting to do from the list below, maybe you need to throw a party at your house!

Hotel Califorina 10th Annual NYE Bash, food and music by 3 bands
Special Dinner at Posada La Poza
Vietnamese Dinner at Windandc@Suki’s
Dessert Buffet, Coffee, Chocolate and Champagne at Hotel Casa Tota
NYE Blowout at Sandbar in Pescadero with Reggae music
NYE Party at La Esquina, music by E Tibbals and the Get Up, Stand Up band

And of course, countless private parties in various locations around the area, including on the beach in Pescadero.

Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for all the support and see you in 2012!

2012 9th Annual Todos Santos Film Festival Dates

The 9th annual Todos Santos Film Festival dates are February 23 – 29, 2012. I have not yet found a list of the films to be shown, but Leonardo tells me it’s a great collection with a few surprises in store also. There will likely be fundraising events associated with the festival and I’ll post that info when it’s available.

Happy Boxing Day!

Merry, Merry! Joy, Joy! Todos Santos Style Christmas Morning

It was a very quiet morning. No one was working. No loud cars without mufflers roaring down the road at 7 am. No parade of construction workers and materials. But the dogs did start barking at dawn – one can’t have everything, even on Christmas morning.

Have a very happy, merry, joyful time with your personal religious beliefs.

Here’s a peek at the nearly empty Las Tunas beach on Christmas morning, 2011.

The Weather Outside Is Frightening – Todos Santos Baja Style!

The winds began howling before dawn this morning. I mean roaring like a train. Got to be 30-35 mph+ gusts from the north/northwest. My sunbrella with the 50 lb base blew over. My bbq grill blew over. My ladder blew over. My seedlings are being flattened by the wind. All the windows and doors in my house are closed and still the wind is blowing through the house. The ocean is choppy and whitecapped. The temps are in the 60′s F. The sun can’t quite break through the cloud layer. My dog is hiding where the wind can’t reach him. Brrrrr.

Not the best timing for this kind of weather – a lot of Todos Santos living takes place outside. Todos Santos is full of holiday tourists. It’s hard to find a parking space. People are walking Calle Juarez in droves. Rental cars and US west coast plated cars are everywhere. Surely they were hoping for more inviting weather but there seems to be a huge north Pacific storm out there sending this weather way south towards us.

Bruce Kramer cancelled this Friday’s pizza night. No telling what other outdoor events are being called off. With the wind like this, you can’t have an outdoor event today/tonight. No way!

Happy Holidays everyone! Felices Fiestas! Stay safe, warm and dry.
