More Press On Cabo Pulmo Conservation Effort

Ever since Greenpeace jumped on board, Cabo Pulmo and the proposed Cabo Córtes project have been getting more and more press, all of it against the proposed development. The joint SalvemosCaboPulmo.org and Greenpeace petition had more than 60,000 signatures as of last week.

SF Gate’s Christine Delsol updated her previous story on Cabo Pulmo to reflect the new activities.

Just received this in today’s morning emails:

March 28, 2012
Dear Property Owners:
Today, we received notification that there is a meeting scheduled for this Friday to discuss Calle Playitas with the person who is in charge of the official paving project. He has requested that everyone who owns property along the road, in particular, and as far north as Las Playitas, to please be present. The Association de Colonias is encouraging everyone affected by the road and this project to attend the meeting.

St. Patrick’s Day fun was had by all at Shut Up Franks. Frank was even there to help out and braise the corned beef with a torch. There was music, good food (so I am told, I don’t eat red meat), tons of booze and a lot of smiling happy faces. Music by Barry Cloyd and food service by Frank, Steve, Maria, Dina, Brandon and others whose names elude me.

Even the Pescadero crew showed up as activities really didn’t start at the Sandbar until well after dark (and of course ran until the wee hours of the morning.)

See you at Shut Up Franks for St. Patrick’s Day next year!

Reduced Services At Los Cabos US Consul Update

I was concerned by the notice issued by the Los Cabos US Consul about handling passport renewals since mine is due for renewal fairly soon. So I emailed them asking about how full time Baja residents could renew under the new services offered and I received this reply today:

Dear Howard,
We will keep receiving passport renewals only for adults (Form DS-82). Lost passports, first time and minor passport renewals will not be accepted, until further notice.
Kind Regards
