More Press On Cabo Pulmo Conservation Effort

Ever since Greenpeace jumped on board, Cabo Pulmo and the proposed Cabo Córtes project have been getting more and more press, all of it against the proposed development. The joint SalvemosCaboPulmo.org and Greenpeace petition had more than 60,000 signatures as of last week.

Looks like the US State Department is paying attention to México’s complaints about the lack of specificity in US travel warnings covering most areas of México. The latest warnings are defining the areas to avoid with a much finer toothed comb and La Paz and Baja Sur come out smelling like a rose.

Last week, US Consular Agent Sarah Schmidt from the US Consul in Tijuana visited Los Barilles and gave a talk (assisted by Los Cabos Consular Agent Trina Brown and Los Barilles Rotary Club) about the services provided by the consul to American citizens in Baja Sur. Chicago Tribune Discovers Culinary Excellence In Baja Sur, Mexico

Organic agriculture is a big and growing business here in Baja Sur. In the Todos Santos/Pescadero area we have many organic farms and most export their precious produce around the world. Some sell locally. Restaurants prefer to use fresh organic produce when possible and the Chicago Tribune discovered this fact when their reporter was dining in Tequila’s restaurant in San Jose del Cabo.
